What we are, what we aren't, and how we make money.

What we are not

Rescue My Finances is a financial education and analysis tool. We are not a credit repair organization, a debt settlement or debt relief company, a debt management plan provider, a credit counseling agency, a lender, a loan broker, a law firm, a tax advisor, or an investment adviser. Nothing on this site or in the product is legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice.

We never touch your money

We do not hold, transfer, or disburse your funds. We do not pay your creditors. We do not negotiate with anyone on your behalf. Every action in your plan is one you take yourself, and every payment goes directly from you to your creditor.

How we make money

Subscriptions, paid by you. If we ever earn a referral fee from a third party, that relationship is disclosed directly on the recommendation where it appears, and it never influences whether or how a recommendation is made. Recommendations are generated from your numbers, before any commercial relationship is considered.

No guaranteed outcomes

We do not promise any specific credit score change, debt reduction, approval, or timeline. Results depend on your circumstances and on what you actually do. Projections are models based on the information you provide, not predictions.

Your data

Information you enter is self-reported and used to produce your analysis. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with lenders, debt buyers, or collectors. See our privacy policy.

Credit reporting rights

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act you have the right to dispute inaccurate information on your credit report yourself, for free, directly with the credit bureaus. You do not need to pay anyone — including us — to exercise that right. We only assist with items you assert are factually inaccurate, and we will not help dispute information that is accurate.
