What this does and does not tell you

It tells you the ratio scoring models look at. It does not tell you what your score will do, because nobody outside the bureaus can — and any tool that gives you a number of points is guessing.

The cheapest improvement available

Ask each issuer what date your balance is reported, then pay before that date instead of after. Nothing about your spending changes; the reported number does.

Do not confuse this with the real problem

Utilization is a snapshot. If you are paying interest month to month, the rate is costing you actual money while utilization costs you a cosmetic number. Fix the interest first and this improves on its own.
